しまなみ海道経由で高知まで旅行に出かけて、最後の夕食は何にしようかと悩んでいた時、宿のリッチモンドが呉れたチラシに小さくお薦めとして書かれていたイタリアンがあるのに気づいた。割と近かったので歩いて行ってみた。店の構えは格調がありちょっと敷居が高そうだが、貼り出されているメニュー表を見て尻込みすることなくドアを押した。18時半は過ぎていたが、予約なしで運良く端の席に通してもらった。
料理は野菜をうまくアレンジして、魚も美味い。連れ合いはアクアパッツァを頼んで大いに満足していた。僕が注文したコースもここまで洗練された食事が高知でできるとは予想外だった。唯一メインのベジョータのローストは肉の状態が今ひとつ納得行かなかったが、サービスもしっかりしていて満足度の高いディナーとなった。
We had a trip to Kohchi and wanted to have a nice dinner for the last evening, but no specific idea. In a leaflet that Richmond Hotel handed us showed this Italian restaurant in its small, recommending article, so we walked to La Prima Vorta. It was before 19:00 and the exterior looked a bit prestigious but the menu posted by the door assured rather reasonable. As we walked in without reservation, we were lucky to get a table.
The dishes they served were excellent, with impressively sophisticated handling of vegetables and delicious fish, too. My wife ordered Aqua Pazza that really made her happy. My course menu was fabulous, and I should stress that I never expected such a refined dinner in Kohchi. Slightly unfortunate was the quality of meat for my main dish, roasted bellota pork, but otherwise it was a very satisfying dinner including the comfortable service by the staff.

新宿御苑のアルテシア - Italian Bar Artesia
昨夜は大学時代の小グループで同窓会。新宿近辺で集まれる場所を探してこのイタリアン・バルに落ち着いた。料理はハム類、カルパッチョ、パスタなど、どれも食材にこだわりを持ちおいしく供される。リストランテとかトラットリアといった気取りもなく、味も単にイタリアンというより何だか丁寧に美味い家庭の味という感覚になれる落ち着いた雰囲気の小さなお店で、参加女性陣も満足そうだった。飲んだワイン、ヴェルデッキオは通常より甘みが強め、プリミティーヴォはしっかりしていた。

The course menu included some assorted ham, carpaccio, salad, spaghetti of cabbage and shrimps before the main pork roast, each of them was with carefully chosen material and quite good. Artesia's atmosphere is nothing classy like ristorante or trattoria, a truly relaxing small space, and I thought its taste of very well cooked home dishes than simply Italian that made our female members very happy.

江ノ島のロアジ – Loasi in Enoshima
ロアジはしばらく閉店していたのだが、場所を江ノ電の江ノ島駅近くに移して今年再開した。友人とのランチに金曜日、この新店舗に初めて出向いた。既に年末ということもあってか、それほど混んでいなかった。中はもちろん新装でもあるし、少し上品になった感じだ。
今回パスタは飛ばして、前菜盛り合わせの後はアクア・パッツァにした。相変わらず美味しく、美しい。グラスワインはジゴンダスを一杯、そのあとトスカーナのサンジョヴェーゼをいただいた。他にロッソ・ディ・モンタルチーノがあった。

last Friday at Loasi in Enoshima. Loasi had been closed for a while since last
year, and they reopened earlier this year in the new premise very close to
Enoshima station. The restaurant was not full on the day probably because it
was already end of the year. The new interior looked more sophisticated.
Dishes I had were antipasti
misti and aqua pazza, skipping pasta, both beautiful and tasty. I picked among
choices of glass wines Gigondas first followed by Tuscan Sangiovese. Rosso di Montalcino
was another option.

鎌倉のロアジ - Loasi in Kamakura
友人と近場でランチすることにした。選んだのはロアジ。鎌倉と言っても、江ノ島に近い腰越で、江ノ電が通る道路沿いの小さな店だ。黒板のメニューにはご覧の通り、地元の魚を使った料理が並ぶ。パスタランチは1500円、肉または魚料理のランチが2000円。盛りつけも美しい前菜はそれぞれ美味、パスタもしっかりした味だ。まさに気の置けない地元のイタリアン。それなら僕の近所では逗子のBRAだが、ここではお皿類を見ても、隣の席で食べていたドルチを覗いても、趣味がいいよねと感じさせて心地良い。もちろん値段も上を行くけど、是非リピートしたいお店だと思う。
We planned a
local lunch with a friend of mine and chose Loasi in Kamakura, or more precisely in Koshigoe near
Enoshima. This small restaurant is facing to Enoden street car rail. The menu shown
on the black board lists variety of local fish dishes, and the pasta lunch set
is 1500 yen while fish or meet lunch set is 2000 yen. The antipasti misti
looked too beautiful to bite but actually all of them were really delicious.
The pasta was excellent, too. Conveniently local but quality-minded Italian is
absolutely appreciable.

Usual Italian in Kusatsu – 草津温泉でいつものランチ
先週は草津温泉発の自転車ツアーを計画していたので、その間にまたいつものアル・ロドデンドロで一度ランチをした。冷製ビシソワーズの後、パスタは地元産キノコと丹波篠山産鹿もも肉のラグーソース。旨かった。
入口にかかっていたニジマスはシェフ自らが榛名方面で釣ってきたものを燻製にしているとか。スチロール箱にどっさり仕上がったばかりの燻製を見せてもらった。

Chez Vous, recently - 新しくなったシェ・ヴー
Chez Vousが石神井公園から大泉学園に引っ越したことは昨年から聞いていたのだが、先日ようやく昼食してみた。開放的でモダンな雰囲気の店内は昔の倍近い広さだ。
前菜、パスタ、ドルチェ、コーヒーがセットのフェリーチェ・ランチは1,500円。特に印象的だったのは前菜に添えられていたブロッコリーのフリッタ、それとほのかな酸味の自家製のパン。ドルチェの美味しさも含め、この店の実力を確認できる。今日のパスタは悪くないものの感激のレベルまでは行かなかった。この店の醍醐味はディナーで、黒板に書かれたメニューからあれこれピックアップして注文するのが一番だと思う。

I heard that Chez Vous moved from Shakujii-Koen to Oizumi-Gakuen last year, and I had lunch just recently. The space is modern and open with almost doubled size from the previous premise.
The felice lunch is a set of hors-d’oeuvre, pasta, dolce and coffee for 1,500 Yen. The most impressive were fritta with broccoli and subtly sour homemade bread. They show the ability of this restaurant including the tasty dessert. The pasta was also good but not exactly touching. Il Bianco – 銀座ランチ@イル・ビアンコ
自分はおそらく開店したての初期からの常連客だと思う。遅めの昼時には社員の何人かが必ずランチしているくらい、ほとんど社員食堂みたいに良く使ったピッツェリアだったが、これはとりもなおさず、うまいからだ。ランチは1050円で、グラスワイン、豆かグリーンサラダの前菜、パスタまたはピザにコーヒーまで付いてくる。近所にはベットーラなど競合する店もあるが、ここは星を競うような店ではない。気取らずリラックスできる雰囲気が食事を楽しくしてくれるし、それを愛する近所の客は多い。久しぶりに訪ねてみたら、価格は据置で今はドルチェまで出すようになっていた。

Since its early days, I repeat coming back to this pizzeria. And we used it like our company’s cafeteria: It never failed to find some of us having late lunch almost daily. It is by all means the dishes were good. The lunch is 1050 Yen that includes a glass of wine, salad of beans or greens, pasta or pizza, and then even a coffee.
There are some competing restaurants in the neighborhood such as Bettola, but Il Bianco is not the type to struggle for stars, but rather, its laid-back, lower town atmosphere enhances a pleasant dining, and those who love it are not a fraction. I had lunch after a long absence, and they now include a dolce for the same price.

日曜に友人を伴ってチポリーノで夕食をした。この店は外からの構えは目立たないし、黒い内装の飾りっ気のなさは殺風景と言って良い。それでも僕にとってここは鎌倉で落ち着いて食事をしたい時には使える店で、もうひとつお気に入りのイタリアン、アンミラーレとは一の鳥居を挟んでお互いすぐ近くにある。
夜は5000円台からのコース3種類があり、僕は手長エビの前菜、カニのパスタ、鯛のローストという構成にした。どの料理も美味しくて楽しめると思うが、プレゼンテーションはシンプルに直球勝負という感じか。特にこだわりを見せるのが自家製パスタで、いつも選択に悩む。デザートでは加速と行かず、ギヤは若干下がる。今回は機械の故障とかで、エスプレッソを出してもらえなかった。

I took my friends to Cipollino for dinner on Sunday. This restaurant is least identifiable from outside, and the interior is not much decorative with almost inorganic black walls, but it guarantees me a quiet and comfortable dining in Kamakura. Another Italian favorite of mine, Ammirare is very close across the First Shrinegate of Wakamiya Ohji.
For the dinner, you can choose the menu from 3 different courses starting slightly above 5000 yen. I ordered scampi for the starter, then crab pasta and roasted red snapper. I think the dishes are all delicious and enjoyable, but their presentation remains simple and straight. They seemed specialized in pastas in particular, and it is always difficult to choose among variety of options. Their deserts are still good but may be one notch down. I could not get an espresso because the machine was out of order that evening.

京都のイタリアン – Divo Diva
2日目のランチは四条烏丸の大丸からほど近いDivo Divaという店に入った。僕は蒸し煮された金目鯛の上に薄切りのズッキーニをあしらったランチ、連れ合いはエビ・貝のトマトクリームソース・パスタを注文した。前菜もそうなのだが、旨味をちゃんと持ちながら決して突出することのないうす味の極地のような味付けに、これはイタリア料理と言っても京都基準の味だとつくづく思う。
満足な食事の後は錦小路をぶらついて、押し寿司、だし巻き卵、丹波の栗などを土産に買って帰路についた。

I ordered steamed alfonsino topped with very thin slices of zucchini and my partner ordered shrimp and shellfish pasta with tomato cream source. Divo Diva definitely offers Italian but precisely speaking I thought its taste actually falls under Kyoto criteria; “the ultimate delicacy of subtlety and sophistication” where the dishes surely integrate the tasty essence but none of elements never stick out. After the happy lunch, we strolled the arcade of Nishiki-koji and bought some square sushi, rolled eggs with stock and chestnuts of Tanba for souvenirs, and took the return train home.
満足な食事の後は錦小路をぶらついて、押し寿司、だし巻き卵、丹波の栗などを土産に買って帰路についた。

杉本寺や浄妙寺近く、金沢街道から川沿いの裏道を入って釈迦堂切通に向かう住宅地に、地場の魚と野菜で家庭的なイタリアンを供する店がある。見落としそうな構えで看板にはNatural Diningと謳っている。僕は昼食にカサゴ・カマス・豆アジのフリッターをいただいたが、添えられた野菜と共にシンプルで鮮度の良い一皿だった。気さくなおかみさんとの会話も楽しかった。

BLA on the Beach – なぎさ通り

このところ地元素材と料理のことを書いているが、そんなわけで最近は外食することが少なくて、うまいお店という話題も盛り上がらない。但し逗子でお気に入りが見つかってないわけではない。JR逗子駅を出てすぐ右の通りを行こう。ここはなぎさ通りと言って、左手にすぐスタバが見える。
ちょっと進むと右に「ENISHI」、シンプルで暗めの内装が落ち着きを醸すバーという感じ。昼は和風のランチが食べられる。さらに先に進んで右手に見落としそうなくらい小さなイタリアンがある。古風なそば屋の向かいだ。店の名は訳して「渚のブラ(?)」、但しBraではないから刺激的なコスチュームは想像しないことだ。地元の魚や野菜、手作りパスタ、アクアパッツァとその残り出汁で作るリゾットなど、少ないバリエーションでローカルの良さをしっかり楽しめる敷居の低いトラットリアだと思う。エスプレッソはできるかと尋ねたら、バリスタがいないので・・・との返事。これからさらに充実して欲しい店だ。
さらに先へ行くと、店の白壁に「喰う喰う」という文字が目に入る。中は小さな中華の店で夜にはバー的な使われ方も意識した造りだ。ここも地元素材を活かしつつ信頼できる味を提供しているので、僕は贔屓にし始めた。

As it implied in my last few blog uploads about the subject of local material and cooking, I do not go out to dine often recently, but to name places to eat, I do have some nice spots in Zushi. Let’s start from JR Zushi station and take right. It is called Nagisa (Beach) Street and you see Starbucks on your left as you proceed. Very soon on your right is ENISHI, a bar with relaxingly dark interior. They offer Japanese style lunch, too.
Going further, a tiny Italian place is too easy to be overlooked on your left or in front of a traditional soba restaurant. Bla on the Beach is the name: no idea what but surely it is not a bra. Here they offer dishes of local fish and vegetables, homemade pastas, risotto from your aqua pazza soup after finishing the meat, all to confirm that this is a great trattoria for locals, far from being flashy but with friendly atmosphere. I asked for an espresso but the answer was no ballista staff there. I really hope they grow steadily further.
Moving on, you will see “Ku-Ku” letters on a white wall, and it is a Chinese restaurant. Inside is comparably small, and this may serve more as a dining bar in the evenings. I had lunch a few times here and found very reliable.

Aqua Pazza - アクアパッツァ
週末に金目鯛を一尾買ってアクアパッツァを作ったら、客人に甚く気に入ってもらえたことに自信を得た。確かにアサリ、アンチョビ、トマト、オリーブ、ワインなどを加えた味の多層性を、蒸し煮することによってしっかり魚に浸透させる料理なので、最近はポワレよりこっちかなという感じ。作り方も漁師料理風にシンプルだし。
今日の黒鯛もこの旨そうな切り身を買う時にはアクアパッツァにしようと決めていた。マイタケを丸々添えてみたら、それもなかなか良かった。ちょっと汁がなくなったけど、それでもうまい!

In the weekend I cooked a whole alfonsino into aqua pazza, and our guests were totally enchanted with it. I am now confident with this simple recipe. It is true to say that the multi-layered taste with clams, anchovy, tomato, olives and wine is braised into the fish meet, and I tend to make it more often than poêlé recently.
Today with sea bream (kurodai), my mind was instantaneously determined when I bought the slice that looked so good. I added hen of the woods mushrooms to see how it would turn out, which worked well, too.

Bistro Matsushimatei – ビストロ松島亭
週末は用あって木曽福島に行っていた。駅に着いた時はすでに13時半を回っていたが、地元でのイチ押しと言うことでランチはビストロ松島亭に駆け込む。中山道の宿場町らしく、かつては商家だったという築150年の風格ある家屋に入ると、品の良いイタリアン的な食事を提供している。パスタランチなら1200円、僕はメイン料理を加えた1800円のコースを注文した。前菜は野菜、生ハム、シュリンプなどを並べたオードブル、パスタはキャベツとサーモンのスパゲッティか山芋のピザ、メインは牡蠣のベーコン巻にほうれん草オムレツ風添えあるいは鶏肉のカツレツという流れでデザートも3点盛りだった。その内容も雰囲気も予想以上に楽しめた。

The menu consisted of the assorted hors-d’oeuvre of vegetables, prochute and shrimps, a choice of salmon/cabbage spaghetti or pizza with yam, and a choice of bacon-rolled oysters on spinach omelet or chicken cutlet. The dessert was an assortion of three kinds. The menu as well as the atmosphere was more than my expectation, so I can recommend this place for travelers.

Fossetta - フォセッタ
天気が良いのでバースデイ・ランチに出かけることにしたら、運良く西鎌倉のフォセッタに席が取れた。湘南モノレールの駅から歩いて数分、住宅街の一角にある小振りなトラットリアだ。僕は2,835円のBコースを頼んだ。前菜5品は鰯のフリッタ、生ハムのムース、フレンチっぽいニンジンのスープなど、どれもしっかりと良い味だ。続いて牡蠣とクレソンのオイル・スパゲッティ。ゆで加減も外さない。メインはスズキか岩手産鶏のところを、料金追加で子羊のグリルにした。この料理には軽くグリルされた野菜もふんだんに添えられ、さすが野菜にこだわる鎌倉の店と言わしめる一品だった。
店の雰囲気はやや田舎風で、めかし込むことなく、とにかく自然にうまいものを肩肘張らず食べるという感じなので、くつろいだ食事の満足度は高いと思う。ここは土地柄、前菜のメニューを見てもいろんな魚料理が並んで、次回はどれにしようかと思いを巡らせるのも実に楽しい。

Assorted starters included fried sardine, prosciutto mouse, and rather French-style carrot soup, all indicated excellent skill of cooking. Following the oil-based spaghetti with oysters and watercress, I chose grilled lamb for the main dish with an extra charge instead of sea bass or chicken, and it came with plenty of lightly-grilled vegetables, an exact example of Kamakura excellence that is particular with quality of vegetables.
The atmosphere inside was slightly rustic, focusing on enjoying good food in a natural and straightforward manner without excessive sophistications. This relaxed experience of quality dining will be quite satisfying.
店の雰囲気はやや田舎風で、めかし込むことなく、とにかく自然にうまいものを肩肘張らず食べるという感じなので、くつろいだ食事の満足度は高いと思う。ここは土地柄、前菜のメニューを見てもいろんな魚料理が並んで、次回はどれにしようかと思いを巡らせるのも実に楽しい。

A Riccione - ア・リッチョーネ
鎌倉シリーズの第二弾はイタリアンの老舗。ちょっと田舎っぽい雰囲気で、アットホームな感じです。鎌倉野菜のバーニャカウダ、鯖のマリネ、ツブ貝とブロッコリーのタリアテッレ、メバルのアクアパッツァを注文した。いずれも素材の鮮度がすべて、余計なことをせずとも旨い。ハウスワインも樽っぽくないものを選んでいるそうで、これも良かったが単価はちょっと高め、あとワイン選びでは具体的にどこの何を供してもらえるのか、なかなか説明がもらえず形容詞のやりとりに終始するので困った。支配人はちゃんとボトルを持って来て説明してくれたけど。

A Riccione in Kamakura is an old Italian from Milan with slightly rural, at-home atmosphere. We ordered Bagna càuda of local vegetables, marinated mackerel, tagliatelle with “tsubu” (buccinum) shell-fish and broccoli, and also aqua pazza of black rockfish. The dishes were quite good as all the material was very fresh by itself with no need to cook too much. Choices of house wine are focused on less oaky tones and they were enjoyable, but a bit high in price. It was difficult communicating to find where and which of wines exactly as they tended to explain through adjectives only. Well, the manager of this restaurant who was more senior came later and showed us the actual bottles for a better conversation.
