Now it is almost over but I had many wine-and-dine evenings in December. Among them the most enjoyable was Portuguese: We went to Perola Atlantica in Gyre Omotesando. I was kind of expecting rural atmosphere but they had a refined service by female staff. We started with chorizo and mussels and they were simply excellent. The recommended wine was a bottle of Porca de Murça that tasted like a southern wine with dense fruits and my partner really liked it. We then shared a cataplana, Portuguese equivalent of buillabaisse or more like Japanese “nabe” because they put rice in it in the end to make a risotto, which was enough for two of us. We stayed until the restaurant closed with espresso.
