Gontran Cherrier - ゴントラン・シェリエ


渋谷・新宿に進出してきたパリのパン屋さん。テレビで紹介されて先日の三連休は行列ができていた。僕は行列までして買わないけど、ここに並べたのはクロワッサン、ショソン・オ・ポム、イカスミのフォッカッチャ。近所のビゴと比べると、サイズが一回り大きい感じ。香りはほのかで上品、味は他店よりずば抜けている印象はなく、ファッション的に人気を狙うやや軟派なパン屋の感じ。具が個性的なおかずパン系の方が面白いかな。

Another boulangerie from Paris in Tokyo. Because of showcasing in the recent TV program, there was a long queue in the shop on Sunday before last. I try when the shop is not too busy as I am reluctant to be in the line for bread and pastries. Shown here are a croissant, a chausson au pomme, and foccacia of squid ink, and their size looks bigger than Bigot’s in my neighborhood. The flavor is subtle and nice, while the taste does not seem exceeding other reputed shops. Rather fashionable approach than pure quality. I tend to find the bread with cooked ingredients (e.g. muffins) more characteristic and interesting.
